Wildfires in Jasper

Severe

We are closely monitoring the wildfire situation in Jasper. If your trip is affected, one of our Customer Experience Specialists will be in touch directly, as soon as possible.

More Details

While parts of Jasper National Park did reopen for visitors on September 6, many of our tour partners, including rail services, are not yet operating.

This situation started when a wildfire reached the town of Jasper, Alberta on July 24, after an evacuation order was issued on July 22 at 10pm MT. Unfortunately, there was significant damage to the town and it has severely impacted the community of Jasper.

There has been considerable progress with the clean-up in the affected area, but many services and attractions are still not available in Jasper. Many local businesses need time to get up and running.

Tourism is very important to Jasper and the team at Fresh Tracks Canada are committed to supporting the community’s recovery. We will be taking a safety-first approach and will wait for further news on reopening timelines before sending our guests to Jasper. This area of Canada has always held a special place in our hearts, and it is encouraging to hear that several businesses in Jasper are gradually restoring their operations.

If your trip is affected, one of our Customer Experience Specialists or our partners will be in touch directly, as soon as possible, either by phone or by email. We are continuing to work as quickly as possible to modify itineraries for guests travelling in the coming weeks. We are working in chronological order of travel date, starting with those travelling within the next two weeks.

Please know we are treating this issue with urgency and are monitoring this situation. Should your trip be impacted by the wildfires, our team will be in touch to advise of alternative arrangements and to help navigate any issues.

You can try getting in touch with us, but please note that our call volume will be higher than normal, and you may need to leave a message.
